Welcome To MYA
MYA is a person-led, holistic collective supporting women and families through life’s full spectrum - from pre-conception and birth to movement, nourishment, and community. Rooted in lived experience, intuition, and care, MYA offers grounded, soulful support that honours both body and spirit.Based in Leeds, Yorkshire, MYA works locally, nationally, and virtually. We create intimate, inclusive spaces where women can feel seen, supported, and connected. Together, this collective is building the village we all need and deserve. Let’s build this village together. The Meaning of MYA
The name MYA carries layered meaning. Across cultures, it is often associated with mother, magic, water, and emerald, symbols of nurturing, flow, renewal, and growth. These qualities sit at the heart of everything MYA offers: care that is intuitive, steady, and life-affirming.MYA is also my middle name, a quiet personal touch that reflects how closely this work is woven into my life.
The Blueprint
MYA is born from my own reflections of motherhood, birth, and the moments that have shaped my sense of purpose.
I’m Lindsay, and would love to share with you a little about why this work feels so meaningful to me.
I grew up between England and the US, formed by a life rich in community, creativity, and care. My biggest support and champion was my dear Mum, Carole, a prolific homeopath whose work centred on active listening, honouring the body’s wisdom, and supporting her patients through healing and change. Among a million other talents, she was also a fabulous home cook who threw the best dinner parties! Her influence continues to guide everything I do.
Like many, my path into birth work and women’s care is a personal one. In 2012 and 2015, I had two empowering home births, followed in 2024 by the unexpected and transformative loss of my spirit baby, Sonny. His passing deepened my understanding of the birth and death portal, and showed me just how important compassionate, steady support can be for both mother and family. Working with a pregnancy-loss doula during that time of grief allowed me to feel truly held and heard, and it ultimately led me to train as a doula myself.
Alongside these personal experiences, I worked in both the UK and US creating and managing events, building networks, and cultivating meaningful communities. From music and art festivals to fashion and wellness fairs, I’ve loved being part of it all. With MYA, I bring these worlds together, combining personal care with mindful connection to create nurturing spaces where women can gather, connect, and feel supported.
After nearly a decade in Nashville, Tennessee as a (mostly) stay-at-home mother of two, I’ve returned to the UK and am now based in West Yorkshire. This collective was created from a belief that we are not meant to move through life’s bigger transitions alone. At its heart, it’s about bringing people together and creating safe, welcoming spaces where women can feel supported, understood, and part of a wider community.
Everything I offer through MYA, from doula support to movement and wellness, is rooted in listening, presence, and trust. Here, you are supported, nourished, and seen. Our Services
Birth
Birth is a profound, life-changing experience, and one that deserves care, presence, and to be truly held.
At MYA I offer full-spectrum birth support, from pre-conception and pregnancy after loss, through postnatal care and miscarriage. I’m passionate about helping women and families navigate the maternity system with confidence and clarity, always listening to and trusting the mother and baby above all else.
As a trained birth and postnatal doula through Conscious Birthing, I’m here to help women feel seen, heard, and supported, honouring the unique rhythm of each family’s journey. I also offer a virtual ‘Held Hour’, providing tailored guidance and support to women and families across the UK and internationally. For more detailed information on my Doula packages and to book a free discovery call, please contact me here.
Community
Community is at the heart of MYA. Growing up in a holistic household and meeting inspiring healers and practitioners along the way, I’ve always been drawn to spaces where people can connect, sharing their wisdom and talents, and support one another. MYA is my way of bringing these connections to life. I curate events, workshops, and circles where women can link with various professionals, explore new ideas, and build meaningful relationships.
Through MYA, you might meet practitioners specialising in hypnobirthing, reiki, shiatsu massage, source point therapy, homeopathy, astrology, menstruality, womb healing, embodied movement, and more. I design these experiences with thought and intention so everyone feels inspired and empowered. In time, retreat offerings in both the UK and US will bring all pillars of the collective together for fully immersive experiences. Every space will be thoughtfully held so you feel welcome, safe, and part of something truly special.
Nourishment
Nourishment isn’t just about food - it’s about care, ritual, and connection. Nothing satisfies the soul more than baking, hosting, and feeding the people I love, and that instinct naturally flows throughout our offerings with MYA.
Through our collective, nourishment takes many forms: homemade sourdough loaves, recipe cards, pre-conception and postpartum meal preparation, and intimate community dinners that gather people around the table. In time, sourdough workshops will also be offered, sharing this slow, artful practice in a way that feels accessible, encouraging, and truly enjoyable while never feeling overwhelming or daunting.
Movement
Moving the body has always been central to my life. I grew up dancing and performing, and after my daughter was born, returning to regular movement became essential for my mental and emotional wellbeing. I eventually began teaching at YMCAs across middle Tennessee, sharing the joy, energy, and strength of movement with others.
I trained in Nashville under the brilliant Jenny Littleton, and her guidance still shapes my teaching style here in the UK. My classes blend dance, yoga, pilates, and functional movement into dynamic, uplifting, and fun workouts set to some seriously excellent playlists. Each session helps you connect with your body, release tension, build strength, and feel the buzz of a supportive and friendly community.
Classes begin May 2026:
- Barre & Beat 75 minutes of rhythm, strength, and flow
- Embodied Flow 60 minutes blending contemporary dance, yoga, and pilates
Classes are in Leeds, with virtual options available. Come move, laugh, and feel the energy.
